Penthouse with interior design in Alicante
Are you looking for ideas to refurbish your penthouse? In Araque Maqueda we work hand-in- hand with the client to develop the design. We will accompany and advise you throughout the entire project, from the original idea to the finishing touches and decoration.
The original design idea of this penthouse in Alicante came from the owner himself. He was seeking to unify the spaces of an old apartment and to provide them with flexibility. We put these ideas on paper and we adapted them to constructive solutions, in order to comply with the current building regulations.

The great advantage of a penthouse is to have a large outdoor space within the same house. In this project, we tried to maximize the sensation of freedom given by the outdoor space.
To create a connection between the kitchen and the terrace we incorporated a recessed sliding window in the wall. When the window is open, the terrace is directly connected to the kitchen.
The passage between the dining room and the terrace was solved with foldable doors. This solution allows a continuous connection between terrace, dining, living and kitchen.
The terrace was covered with composite boards for outdoors, which resemble wooden boards, but are more durable than natural wood and do not require maintenance. The planters, which were made on site, were also covered with composite boards, in order to unify the decoration of the set.
The terrace itself was designed to be a living space. The terrace offers a very pleasant and dynamic atmosphere thanks to the installation of automatic awnings with weather sensors that can open or close themselves and of a misting system for cooling.
This penthouse has a living room with a very particular design. In a first look, it just seems to be a large space directly connected to the rooms that surround it.
However, if you analyse the space, you will find that the furniture was equipped with rails and industrial bearings which allow them to be moved and to reveal a new space suitable for guests.
Penthouse with hidden panels: separate different rooms without using doors.
The entire sleeping area is directly communicated with the private bathroom and the dressing room, giving fluidity to the area. Although, if more privacy is sought, the hidden sliding panels give the possibility to separate the rooms.
The main bathroom was designed to follow an open concept, thus it is connected to the bedroom and the dressing room. Both walls and floor were coated with micro cement in a beige tone, following the color palette chosen for rest of the house.
One of the walls of the bathroom was covered with the same wood-effect floor tiles used in the rest of the house: Porcelanosa Houston Ash ceramic parquet.
The kitchen area is distributed in an open and bright space connected to the terrace. It is equipped with a mobile island that gives the option to separate the kitchen from the dining room.
In summary, the refurbishment of this penthouse was performed according to the initial ideas of our client that were guided toward a flexible and unified design.
