From an old industrial warehouse to a CrossFit box
For turning an industrial warehouse into a Crossfit gym it is essential to understand the philosophy of this sport.
In Crossfit, athletes use the space as a point of socialization and dissemination of ideas and experiences. It is important to distribute the gym facilities around a large room where athletes meet to share their training.
The industrial warehouse chosen by our clients used to serve as a shoe factory with an upper level destined to offices. The space had all the qualities to create a large training area perfectly segregated from the service areas, which were located upstairs.

From a shoe factory to a Crossfit gym. A new life for an industrial warehouse.
The sequence of photos above shows the transformation of the warehouse, from the initial state to the refurbishment completed.
The corporate colors are part of the design, they are present in all the finishes and materials of the gym.
The project combines 4 basic colors that accompany the visitors throughout their experience in the building.
The original structure of the industrial warehouse was maintained but the finishing materials were completely renewed, creating a completely different typology from the original.
Along the way from the entrance to the dressing rooms the same idea is maintained, although the vivid tones are changed for neutral tones to obtain a more sober and quiet space.
The service area was planned to be the most comfortable and practical as possible.
The runway up to the dressing rooms was used as a waiting area and rest area.
The diaphanous space was equipped with all the necessary for athletes to make their training more effective.
The shower area was covered with microcement and it was placed at the same level than the flooring. The colors and finishing materials were chosen to convey a sense of relaxation after an intensive training session.
